Trunk-or-Treat Extravaganza!

We had such a great time last night. It was the Trunk or Treat in Kip's parents ward. Gracelyn dressed up as a Fairy Princess, and looked beautiful. I made her tutu and glued the gems on her liatard, it was a fun little project for me. (For anyone who knows me knows that I am always looking for fun projects to keep me busy). The Shooks came over for the Trunk or Treat too. Landon was dressed as a crayon, and Ty was a "handsome devil". The kids looked adorable! Inside the church there were several activities in each room for the kiddos to get their candy, it was a terrific idea, although in some rooms we had to just get the candy for the kids, because it was a bit complex for 2 yr. olds. PaDave had an awesome costume, he was a ghost buster with a cury wig and silly glasses, although Gracie did not think they were silly at all. She was for the first time, terrified of PaDave. Gracie was so cute the whole night, she kept saying, "Party"! Isn't it amazing how quickly kids learn the concept of a party.

After the fun games inside the church, it was time for the Trunk-or-Treat. The first five cars we went to we told Gracie to say Trunk-or-Treat, and she said, "Treat" and then handed HER candy to the person giving out candy. It was so hilarious. We kept telling her, that they are the ones who give away the candy! :0) Oh the innocense of our sweet girl. At one of the cars it was decorated really cute with lights and had creepy stuffed monster sitting next to the candy, and Gracie clung to Kip so tight, and refused to put her hand into the candy bowl. She just kept staring at the monster in utter discust. It's funny, because Kip and I were talking later that night and how does she know what is scary. It is an interesting concept, if you think about it.

After the Trunk-or-Treat, we went back home (Dave and Martha's, our current home) and the first thing Gracie did was dump out all her candy to admire it. I can already tell that this Halloween is going to be so much fun with her! And she will have got to wear her costume twice. What great fun! I love being a mom!

Gracie is such a cutie! Her costume looks great, good job linds! I think Connor is missing Gracie too because he has been saying her name the last several days. He will be glad to see her tomorrow. You are right this halloween will be so fun with these little ones.
